We booked this B&B for our anniversary and had a wonderful weekend in luxury in the heart of the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside.
Our suite was perfectly decorated with all of those little details you always want, but rarely get. The bed was divinely comfortable. The cooked breakfast, a gourmet treat. Chris and jonathon were the perfect hosts.
I can imagine that this B&B is perfect for small stylish weddings and other events.
This place is amazing, from the minute we arrived we were made welcome with coffee and homemade cake. Both Chris and Jonathan have done a wonderful job with this B&B the property has been beautifully decorated and has a lovely private garden. This couple have truly thought of everything from the lovely soft white fluffy bathrobes right down to a shoeshine kit in the room.
There is no cheap plastic kettle with instant coffee, tea bags and long life milk you have a Tassimo coffee machine in the room with a variety of pods. There is also a jar with homemade biscuits in your room. On the landing there is a fridge where you can help yourself to cute little bottles of fresh milk. The breakfast is fantastic with choice of cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast, fruit juice, tea or coffee and lovely local bacon and sausages.
Nothing is too much trouble for Chis and Jonathan they will book places for your evening meal, tell you about the local attractions. We stayed here as a treat for my husband as we were celebrating his 60th Birthday. He wanted to go to Coningsby to see the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Jonathan was so good he rang to find out opening times but to my husband’s disappointment it was closed.
The next day Jonathan told us about a day out at Metheringham Airfield visitors centre where the BBMF were going to perform a fly past, we had a lovely day thanks to Jonathan.
We arrived here as very welcome guest and felt like we were leaving as friends. Thanks again Chris and Jonathan for a lovely stay.
Stayed for a night in Hamish the stag room. From the moment we got there, nothing was too much trouble. Jonathan and Chris are the most genuine hosts you will ever meet with a clear talent in making your stay as luxurious and peaceful as they can.
The room is amazing with absolutely everything you can think of from the tassimo machine with plenty of choice of tea or coffee to the sewing kit in case of emergency. They really have put their hearts into the elm tree.
The breakfast is the best breakfast I have ever eaten with as much drinks and toast you could eat.
I can’t wait to return in September to try marley mallard room.
If your staying in the area, don’t look or consider anywhere else but The Elm Tree. From the first impressions and welcome, to saying goodbye and driving away, the couple of days we spent at Elm Tree were simply amazing and unforgettable.
Jonathan and Chris are amazing hosts who have a particular amazing skill at attention to detail. From fresh milk, a sewing kit, homemade cake, homemade biscuits, shoe shine kit, amazing food, amazing interior all with matching personalities it doesn’t get any better.
You can see the effort that’s gone into every corner of this amazing luxury b&b, it’s not to be missed.
Jonathan and Chris offer a genuinely warm welcome to their stunning luxury B&B. Situated in a beautiful part of the country, they offer luxurious rooms which are presented with care and attention to detail. Guests are treated to delicious home-made cakes and biscuits, a wide range of in-room teas and coffees with very welcome fresh milk, free wi-fi Neal’s Yard Toiletries and super-soft towels and robes.
The decor is elegant and beautiful and after a wonderful night’s sleep the views of the garden from the light and airy breakfast room make for a tranquil start to the day. A range of fruits, cereals and juices are on offer and Chris’s generous full English breakfast was of very high quality, cooked and presented beautifully.
Nothing was too much trouble for these natural hosts and when we made contact in advance for a restaurant recommendation to celebrate a special anniversary Jonathan not only booked us a table at a wonderful local restaurant but organised taxis too – amazing service. You can’t help but feel the passion and pride that the hosts have invested in this very special place.
Stopped here for a couple of nights while visiting friends in April and were so glad we did. Chris and Jonathan are great hosts and you can tell they enjoy making you feel welcome, we were left not wanting for anything. Welcome drinks, cake and local advice were excellent. (The Hundleby Inn just 2 mins walk away made for a very friendly den for our evening meal and drinks with our friends.)
We had the Percy Pheasant room and were very impressed, it was huge with 4 poster bed and Tassimo coffee machine and Jonathan made sure there was plenty of our favourite flavours. We slept very well and had a very nice cooked breakfast downstairs in the morning with as much tea and toast as we could manage. We had a view of the garden which was lovely but work in progress.
We wouldn’t normally go for a luxury b&b but it looked like such good value and it was. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this place, we will certainly be back when we’re in the area.
A hidden gem in the Wolds. Stayed here for a weekend treat and was blown away by the whole experience. Our room was stunning and really tastefully decorated. I stay in a lot of 4 and 5 star hotels in my work and this was right up there with the best.
Really good facilities in our room and breakfast was absolutely scrumptious. The owners, Chris and Jonathan are so charming and really made us feel at home. Can’t wait to return in summer so we can enjoy the lovely terrace as it was a bit chilly this time.
From the moment we first got in touch to enquire about having a birthday party at The Elm Tree, Jonathan and Christopher have been the perfect hosts. So friendly and easy to talk to, and NOTHING is too much trouble. An absolute pleasure to deal with, customer service just comes naturally to them.
They took all the stress out of organising a birthday party and made it incredibly easy for us. They have done an amazing job at taking a beautiful old building and bringing it back to life. They have taste! The look, feel and design of The Elm Tree is incredible – and all the guests at the party kept remarking on what a beautiful place this is and what an incredible venue it is.
The downstairs rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished and perfect for a gathering. The bedrooms are also beautifully done, with every little detail thought of. It is just gorgeous, and very much worth considering if you want a luxurious stay in Lincolnshire. An absolute gem right on our doorstep – cannot praise enough!
